POSTERS AND BANNERS.

Make a positive and long-lasting first impression with a high quality, full color poster. A great looking poster as part of a promotional campaign is a great way to introduce your department, new services to the campus. Posters are also a great way to announce an upcoming event, express yourself by showcasing your artwork, or even as a money making product.

Our department produces high photo quality posters and banners up to 44" wide. The finished print can then be mounted or laminated to your specifications. Printing with the large format color printer is the fastest and most cost-effective way to produce small quantities of large items with the impact of full color.

FORMATS

EPS
The best file you can give us is an EPS created from Adobe Illustrator. We can take the EPS files and drop them right into our software making turn around times faster. Color and size can be manipulated easily if needed. We recommend outlining your fonts in Illustrator just in case we have to open it for manipulation. Remember, when outlining fonts, it makes the text uneditable, so make sure you save the document as a different name to send to us. One of the great points about creating jobs in Illustrator is that it is vector art. Vector art can be enlarged with no loss of resolution.

TIFF
Tiff’s can also be dropped straight into our software. The resolution of the image should be at least 300 dpi. For the time being we would prefer the tiff to be in RGB. This is the only time we will utilize RGB.

PDF
If you are using other programs it would save time and money to create a PDF of your file. There are a few ways to create a pdf. The best way is to invest in Adobe Acrobat. It allows you to print to a pdf using presets that create good resolution and an embedded file. The other way to create a pdf is to use the export function in the program you are using, however; this is not a good way to do it, it will work, but your resolution will be low and we could still have font issues.

Microsoft Power point
We understand that you may not have better programs and Power point is all you have. We can work with this program but you will need to stick to some rules so that problems are kept to a minimum.

  1. Try to avoid cutting and pasting from other programs. Your imagery needs to be saved in a image format and placed into the document like you would clip-art. We know that this may not be possible all the time, but you take a risk of the file failing to print.
  2. If you are using roman symbols, use the font “symbol” instead of using the insert symbol function.
  3. Colors may not come out the way they look on the screen, most of the time they are close but if you are particular about color you are using the wrong program.
  4. Do not use word-art. Our rip software does not understand it and will not print it properly.
  5. A proof will be required and you will need to look over it closely before approving.
  6. Be understanding if there is a problem with your file, we will try to work through the problem but if it is a time consuming fix, we will have to charge computer time. Or give you the option to fix it yourself.

Proofs are recommended on all poster jobs. Should you decline to see a proof, payment for incorrect prints will be billed to you. Please have your final changes made before bringing your file. Additional computer charges may be added for corrections.
